Our company was inspired by a lady who seemed to have it all, until her husband was diagnosed with dementia and was declining fast. He had managed their finances, farm, and family business, estate planning, and more, for the last 30 years. And now, she didn’t know what to do. She was overwhelmed and afraid.
Jonathan Peel and his wife said to each other, “There must be something that we can do to help people like this.” And so they formed Family Stewardship Services and developed services to meet the needs of people and their families in these and other various situations.
Jonathan had consulted at multi-billion-dollar companies for over 25 years, leading projects, programs, and portfolios. Shifting from the fast-paced corporate world, he now helps families manage their money and their estates. Jonathan is a CPA and lives in Bonner County, ID with his wife, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 10 chickens. In addition to working with clients through Family Stewardship Services, he enjoys hiking, playing the piano, sailing, gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Stewardship is the activity or job of protecting and being responsible for something. Thinking about all of the things that might fall under “stewardship,” one quickly realizes that it goes beyond money, personal belongings, real estate, etc. It also includes protecting and preparing for the future for one’s spouse, children, older parents, and even pets.
Good stewardship doesn’t happen by mistake, and it can be a struggle for many. One isn’t a good steward by simply doing nothing. Good stewardship requires strength and courage.
“Let us help you be a good steward of what has been entrusted to you. Call today for an initial consultation.” – Jonathan Peel
